This project's goal was to create a 3d model of extinct Imperial Woodpecker (Campephilus imperialis). The resulting renders and animations show the bird in several flight patterns (fast-flapping, bounce-gliding and gliding). The 3D model, rig, and animations were created by myself and Josh Medina in Blender using 3d scans of preserved specimens of the bird as well as artist sketches, and references photos of similar species.
